Mezzanines in their simplest form are like big ‘Meccano Kits’ with most of the fabrication being done prior to arrival on site. They consist of a base structure comprising steel primary and secondary beams linked to vertical box section columns and 38mm decking boards. But they can be glamorised to give more sophisticated features such as staircases with stainless steel and glass handrails, decorative fire rating finishes and even glass panels in the floor!
