Project Overview
Advanced Commercial Interiors was appointed to deliver a comprehensive office fit out for DSV at Mercia Park, creating a modern, functional and flexible workplace across the ground and first floors.
The project involved transforming the space into a fully equipped working environment, combining open plan office areas, meeting rooms, glazed offices, breakout spaces, work pods, staff facilities and support rooms. The quotation scope covered both ground floor and first floor works, with a total project cost of over £420,000.
The completed project reflects a clean, professional and contemporary workspace, using a combination of black-framed glazed partitions, acoustic meeting spaces, practical flooring finishes, suspended ceilings, integrated ventilation and collaborative furniture settings.
The Brief
DSV required a workplace that could support a wide range of day-to-day business functions while maintaining a consistent visual identity across the Mercia Park site.
The brief included the creation of:
* Open plan work areas
* Meeting rooms and private offices
* Training room facilities
* Breakout and staff refreshment areas
* Call rooms and enclosed work pods
* Mindfulness and prayer rooms
* First aid, server, search and changing room spaces
* Tea point facilities
* Improved air conditioning and ventilation
The CAD layout shows a clear division of space across both floors, with the first floor incorporating offices, a training room, meeting room, call rooms, enclosed pods and an open plan work area. The ground floor layout includes breakout areas, a games room, meeting room, server room, first aid room, mindfulness room, prayer room, search area and security check area.
A key part of the brief was to use glazed office partitioning to create enclosed spaces without compromising the open, bright and connected feel of the workplace. The specification included single glazed office partitioning in 12mm clear toughened glass, with black powder-coated tracks and framed glass doors.
The Solution
ACI delivered a complete fit out package across the ground and first floors, covering partitioning, glazing, ceilings, flooring, tea points, furniture, air conditioning, ventilation and project management.
The works included solid partitions, wall linings and extensive black-framed glazed partitioning to create offices, meeting rooms, training spaces, work pods and support areas while maintaining natural light and visibility throughout the workplace. Suspended ceilings, acoustic insulation and upgraded HVAC systems were also incorporated to improve comfort, privacy and day-to-day usability.
Finishes were selected to suit each area, with carpet tiles used in office spaces and Luxury Vinyl Tile installed in breakout, welfare and support areas. ACI also delivered tea points, worktops, lockers, benching and collaborative work pods, helping create a practical and flexible working environment for DSV.
The Final Outcome
The completed DSV Mercia Park fit out delivered a modern, professional and flexible workplace designed around productivity, collaboration and staff wellbeing.
The finished space includes open plan working areas, glazed offices, meeting rooms, training facilities, work pods, breakout areas and practical support rooms. Black-framed glazing, frosted manifestation, coordinated flooring and clean ceiling lines create a bright, contemporary finish throughout.
The result is a cohesive workplace that gives DSV a balance of open collaboration, private meeting space, quiet working areas and comfortable staff facilities within one well-planned office environment.
