DSV Brackmills Office Fit Out

Advanced Commercial Interiors were appointed to deliver a comprehensive office fit out for DSV Solutions at Brackmills Industrial Estate in Northampton.

The project covered both ground and first floor areas, helping to create a more practical and adaptable workplace within the existing building. Works included new solid partitioning, glazed office partitioning, fire-rated screens, oak veneered doors, tea points, shower and changing facilities, a first aid room, meeting rooms, offices and staff welfare spaces.    

ACI also delivered a range of feature finishes across the space, including timber slat panelling, manifestation to glazed partitions, artificial green wall panelling, external roller blinds, specialist work pods and stone-effect LVT flooring to selected areas.    

The completed project created a professional, modern and functional working environment, with a layout designed to support private offices, collaborative areas, staff breakout spaces and day-to-day operational requirements.

DSV required a fit out that would make better use of the ground and first floor areas at their Brackmills site, creating a workplace that could support a variety of working styles and operational needs.

The ground floor plans included a reception, admin area, canteen, quiet area, meeting and training room, search area, locker rooms, shower changing rooms, first aid room and a gym and workout classroom.  

The first floor layout was designed around meeting rooms, a breakout area, tea point, general manager office, directors office, non-assigned offices, archive room and bespoke joinery pods, with glazed partitioning, manifestation, feature wood panelling and faux living wall details included throughout the proposed design.  

The brief also called for practical details such as lockable office doors, DDA-compliant oak veneered doors, fire protection to identified areas, blinds to office windows and integrated tea point facilities. 

The proposed floor plans set out a full ground and first floor workplace layout for the DSV Brackmills office fit out.

On the ground floor, the layout included the reception area, admin space, canteen, quiet area, meeting and training room, first aid room, shower changing rooms, gym and workout classroom, security/search counter and locker room areas. The plan also identified key specification details such as manifestation to glass, faux living wall panelling, fire-protected areas and locker layouts.  

The first floor plan introduced a more office-led arrangement, with meeting rooms, a breakout area, tea point, general manager office, directors office, archive room, non-assigned offices and bespoke joinery work pods. The drawing also highlighted glazed partitioning, feature wood panelling, folding walls, electric window blinds, faux living wall panelling and Unirack shelving within the archive room.  

Together, the plans show how the existing space was divided into a mix of practical work areas, meeting spaces, welfare facilities and collaborative zones, while retaining flexibility across both floors.

The finished project delivered a modern office environment with a strong balance of practical working areas, meeting spaces, welfare facilities and feature finishes.

Glazed partitioning with manifestation helped form private offices and meeting rooms while maintaining an open, light feel across the workspace. Solid partitions, oak veneered doors and fire-rated screens created the required separation between key areas, while the tea points, shower rooms, first aid room, locker facilities and breakout spaces supported the day-to-day needs of DSV’s team.    

The final design was enhanced with timber slat panelling, artificial green wall panelling, specialist work pods, stone-effect LVT flooring, roller blinds and fitted tea point finishes. These features added warmth, texture and flexibility to the workplace, creating a professional environment suited to both focused work and informal collaboration.
