Headstock Group Office Refurbishment: A Bold, Brand-Led Workspace Transformation

Project Overview

Advanced Commercial Interiors was appointed to complete a full office refurbishment for Headstock Group at their premises in Halesowen. The project covered both the ground floor and first floor, with works spanning the reception, boardroom, open-plan offices, breakout areas, private offices, tea points, washrooms, staircase and supporting spaces.

The refurbishment was designed to create a more modern, practical and brand-focused workplace, while giving each area a clear purpose. From the dark, high-impact boardroom and product display areas through to the refreshed open-plan offices and warm breakout spaces, the finished environment reflects Headstock Group’s identity while improving day-to-day usability for their team.

ACI’s scope included enabling works, decoration, flooring, washroom refurbishment, new tea points, bespoke joinery, glazed partitioning, lighting upgrades, signage, office furniture, storage, window blinds and project management. The quotation also allowed for an 8–10 week programme for ACI works, including site supervision, CAD drawing works and office project management.

The Brief

Headstock Group required a workplace that felt more aligned with their brand, their products and the way their teams use the building. The existing areas needed updating across both floors, with a stronger focus on presentation, comfort, collaboration and functionality.

A key part of the brief was to transform the boardroom and reception into statement spaces. The CAD drawing identifies new joinery for the Laney amp display, a media wall, decorative timber wall panelling, client logo signage, new feature walls and a boardroom layout designed around a large central meeting table.

The wider office also needed to support multiple departments, including marketing, product design, product management, IT, logistics and production, distribution, sales and customer service, and finance. The plans included a mixture of open-plan workstations, private offices, informal meeting areas, booth seating, poseur-height tables and Cubeform feature divides to help zone the space without closing it off.

Alongside the visual upgrade, the project also needed to address practical improvements such as replacement kitchens and sanitaryware, new flooring, blinds, stair nosings, lighting in key areas, new walnut veneer doors, upgraded washrooms and improved furniture provision throughout.

The Solution

ACI delivered a coordinated office refurbishment package across both floors, combining fit-out works, finishes, furniture and bespoke joinery into one complete scheme.

On the ground floor, the reception and boardroom were transformed with a darker, more distinctive design, including a new black suspended ceiling, LED halo lighting, bespoke media wall and amp/product display units. The COO’s office was upgraded with new glazed partitioning, while the wider office areas were refreshed with new flooring, decoration, blinds, furniture and storage.

Across the open-plan spaces, ACI installed new bench desking, task seating, monitor arms, mobile pedestals and Cubeform feature divides to help organise departments without closing the space off. The project also included new tea points, breakout furniture, upgraded washrooms, walnut veneer doors, stair nosings, signage and wall graphics, creating a consistent finish throughout the building.

The Final Outcome

The completed refurbishment has given Headstock Group a modern, practical and brand-led workplace that feels much more aligned with the business and its products.

The boardroom and reception now create a strong first impression, with black feature finishes, illuminated display areas, bespoke joinery, product showcases and a large timber meeting table. These spaces feel professional and client-ready, while still reflecting the character of the Headstock Group brand.

The open-plan offices are cleaner, better organised and more comfortable for staff, supported by new furniture, storage, feature dividers, flooring and blinds. Breakout and tea point areas now provide warm, usable spaces away from the desk, while the refurbished washrooms and staircase help raise the standard of the building as a whole.
